Sunflake Soccer is a recreational soccer program developed here in Grand Forks to promote the growth of soccer in this area. It is structured so as to not over-emphasize winning and to promote the importance of teamwork and participation. Our expectation is that everyone plays at least half of all games.

Sunflake Soccer is a volunteer, nonprofit organization. We are a member of the North Dakota Youth Soccer Association. This also makes us members of the United States Youth Soccer Association, so each child who is registered is covered by the national association umbrella insurance. We depend on volunteers and provide the coaches and team managers from the ranks of the parents and others.

We have many new players each season and encourage everyone to consider soccer, even if they have not played before. Soccer skills can be picked up quickly and our state association provides training for our coaches.
